Creative Spaces 2012
With the support of the Sunshine Coast Council art4place will stage Creative Spaces 2012 - a placemaking art trail across the Hinterland. Six temporary placemaking art activities will be carried out in 6 special Hinterland places between 14 September and 6 October 2012. These placemaking art activities will highlight the stories of the people and place where they are held.
The six activities are:
Water Creatures of the Obi Obi - workshops and installations for children in and around the Maleny Library;
Celebrating the Glossy Black Cockato - workshops, a film and fun in Montville for children;
Sailing Inland – a fabric sail installation in Balmoral celebrating the tall ships and hang gliders
Creative Sparks - lantern making workshop and installation at Witta – celebrating the Hinterland’s cooperative history;
Celebrating love and unity - installation of painted floating leaves in Montville highlighting the traditional and social use of lagoons on the Hinterland; and
Peace in the trees - sandstone carving workshop and installation of sandstone monoliths in Booroobin celebrating peace and the environment.
